DRUMS, Pa. - Freshman
Ben Boss (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) shot a career-best round of 73 to tie for fifth place and help Gettysburg to a third-place 306 on Friday afternoon at the Susquehanna Invitational at Edgewood-in-the-Pines Golf Course. For the Bullets, who have averaged 313 in four events this fall, the team score of 306 marks the best round of the season.
Freshman
Ned MacPherson (North Mansfield, Mass./St. Mark's School) tied for 12th with round of 75. Senior
Keith Hinder (Bel Air, Md./John Carroll School) checked in with a round of 78, good for a 22nd-place tie, and classmate Nick Campanile (Tinton Falls, N.J./Monmouth Regional) rounded out Gettysburg's scoring with an 80. He tied for 35th place out of 84 golfers.
The Susquehanna A squad won the tournament with a six-over par 294, and Chris Merce of St. Peter's was the individual medalist with a three-under 69. York (Pa.) came in second, just two shots ahead of the Bullets with a 304.
Gettysburg returns to action on Tuesday when it will host the Gettysburg Invitational. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. at the Links at Gettysburg.
